PAETEC' plans for downtown headquarters scaled back

September 4, 2008 RDDC Staff Angelo J. Chiarella, a long-time downtown supporter and model of citizenship and friendship for RDDC staff for years, died today near Albany. The community benefitted from Chiarella's "unusual blend" of formal architectural training and business acumen, according to RDDC Chairman and SWBR President David Benietti.

Finale for Midtown Plaza
July 25, 2007 WXXI, Bud Lowell Friday at 5:30 p.m. marks the finale for Midtown Plaza -- the last day it's regularly open to the public. The Clock of Nations and most of the businesses are already gone. Many of the people walking through Midtown Plaza today carried cameras and were getting snapshots of its final hours. Some made a few final purchases at one of the few businesses that hasn't moved yet.......

Gilbane Building Company named PAETEC developer; New Website launched by City
June 2007 RDDC Staff The PAETEC Holding Company has named Gilbane Building Company of Rhode Island to act as the developer of its headquarters site at the former Midtown Plaza site in downtown Rochester, New York. Bordered by Euclid, Broad, Clinton, and Main Streets, the former plaza is widely anticipated to be redeveloped as a mixed-use site jointly administered by the Empire State Development Corporation and the City. Gilbane's experience includes extensive work in the County of San Diego and the Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, the City of Rochester has launched Midtown Rochester Rising , a website aimed at facilitating the rapid flow of information and communication to the numerous developers, neighboring enterprises, and business and community groups with interest in the site.
